Music Therapy Services

Music therapy supports child development by using rhythm, movement, and song to build skills in communication, motor planning, social interaction, and emotional regulation.

Overview

Music therapy supports child development by using rhythm, movement, and song to build skills in communication, motor planning, social interaction, and emotional regulation. It is especially effective for children with autism, sensory processing differences, speech, and language delays.

Music therapists partner with teachers and other therapists to support learning and engagement through joyful, meaningful music-based experiences. Whether through group sessions, co-treatment, or classroom integration, music therapy empowers children to express themselves and connect with others.

Our Programs

Music therapy is integrated into our programs in the following ways:

  • Small group sessions in APS and preschool settings
  • Activities that support social-emotional growth and self-expression
  • Collaboration with teaching staff to integrate music therapy into classroom routines and learning activities
  • Co-treatment with speech, occupational, and physical therapists to support individualized developmental and therapeutic goals through music
  • Inclusive and adaptive music-making using AAC devices, switch-access technology, and adapted musical instruments to support participation for children of all abilities
