Pediatric Speech and Language Therapy

Pediatric speech-language pathologists help children build essential communication skills

Overview

At Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania, our pediatric speech-language pathologists help children build essential communication skills to express their thoughts, needs, and emotions across all environments—at home, in school, and in the community. We support children with speech sound disorders, language delays, social communication difficulties, and feeding concerns.

When verbal communication is limited, our team evaluates children for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems using the SETT (Student, Environment, Tasks, Tools) framework. We tailor communication tools such as picture exchange systems (PECS), speech-generating devices, and eye gaze technology to meet each child’s unique needs. We then work with caregivers and educators to integrate these supports into everyday routines, helping children connect, participate, and thrive.

Our Programs

Speech and Language Therapy is integrated into our programs in a variety of ways:

  • Speech and language therapy for expressive/receptive language, articulation, fluency, and feeding
  • AAC and communication device evaluations using the SETT framework
  • Picture supports and visual strategies for daily routines
  • Embedded services in Early Intervention, APS, and charter schools
  • Family coaching and school team collaboration to support carryover across settings
