Easterseals is creating a new accessible playground at our Philadelphia location to support children with disabilities through safe, inclusive play. 

This playground will extend therapy, learning, and independence beyond the classroom—transforming everyday moments of play into meaningful opportunities for growth. 

 

Why This Playground Matters 

At Easterseals, play is not just play—it is therapy in action. 

Our teachers and therapists use play with intention to motivate children to try hard things, practice essential skills, and build confidence through repetition. What may look like “just playing” is often a critical part of a child’s development. 

Our Philadelphia program serves children with multiple disabilities, autism, and developmental delays—yet currently has no outdoor playspace. This new playground will create a safe, accessible environment where learning and therapy can continue every day, beyond the classroom walls.

The Impact of Inclusive Play 

An accessible playground allows children to explore, take risks, and build independence in ways that traditional classrooms cannot. 

With your support, this playground will serve nearly 100 children each year and help them build foundational skills that support lifelong success.

We are raising $500,000 to build a fully accessible playground that will become a daily extension of therapy, learning, and growth. This investment will create a permanent, inclusive space where children can strengthen skills, gain confidence, and engage more fully with the world around them.
