Meet Everly

TAMMI: Everly my little um sassy social butterfly is everything She loves everyone Everyone who meets her falls in love with her I want to say the greatest part about being the parent to Everly is watching her accomplish so much We really didn't know what she was going to be able to do with her condition being so rare Easterseals is life-changing to us I want to say they helped her thrive in every way possible Easterseals taught her a lot They taught her how to use her wheelchair They taught her how to use her walker She has become fiercely independent since starting at Easterseals DEBBIE: When we first met her she was shy and a little reserved Now she's not at all She speaks in these long sentences and she has reciprocal conversations with kids Everly came to us as a really social little bug who desired to communicate During the year I think Everly's self-confidence has really grown a lot because she just feels so good about herself And in turn as new little children have come into our classroom throughout the year Everly has taken them under her wing. NOELLE: So I've known Everly for several years What's really nice is that she has shown so much independence and desire to move and desire to do things herself So it's been really fun to just help her I love trying to figure things out for her because she just wants to do everything that the children are doing I like working at Easterseals It offers a collaborative approach I love working with the speech therapists and the occupational therapists and behavior and just trying to figure things out DEBBIE: I like working with the parents because the parents I think they have a lot of contact So I really want them to know that I know that their kids are their heart and they mean a lot to us too We're going to do our best for them TAMMI: Coming here and setting goals and Everly just smashing those goals right away is just unbelievable Everyone here just really jumped in hands on Eastereals all the way [Music]
